European tech diaspora

Find like-minded people building abroad

Nearly all European startups with over $500 million in revenue have succeeded by winning the US market. About 10% of US tech startups are founded by European expats and there’s roughly 1000 companies starting in the US each year instead of Europe.

How do you go about setting foot abroad? One way is to talk to other European startup people who have already expanded their business abroad – i.e. if you’re French, you ask other French or if you’re Swedish you talk to other Swedes or Nordic startup people or investors.

We put together a directory of European tech startup founders from 30 countries who have set up office, hired people and raised capital in a country different than their home, or work abroad as either investors or for big tech companies, particularly in San Francisco and NYC – people you can ask for advice.
